{"id":908869,"date":"2026-09-25T07:56:09","date_gmt":"2026-09-25T07:56:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/908869\/"},"modified":"2026-09-25T07:56:09","modified_gmt":"2026-09-25T07:56:09","slug":"oil-prices-jump-after-yemens-houthis-claim-attacks-on-saudi-facilities-oil-and-gas-news","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/908869\/","title":{"rendered":"Oil prices jump after Yemen\u2019s Houthis claim attacks on Saudi facilities | Oil and Gas News"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"article__subhead\">Brent crude tops $106 a barrel after Iran-aligned rebel group claims to have successfully attacked Aramco facilities.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"avatar\" tabindex=\"-1\" aria-hidden=\"true\" href=\"https:\/\/www.aljazeera.com\/author\/powerj\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/1790322969_318_jp-1730786685-rotated.jpg\"   aria-hidden=\"true\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Published On 25 Sep 202625 Sep 2026<\/p>\n<p>Oil prices have jumped following renewed attacks on Saudi Arabia by Yemen\u2019s Houthi rebels, including claimed strikes on facilities belonging to state-run energy giant Aramco.<\/p>\n<p>Brent crude, the key yardstick of global prices,\u00a0rose more than 3 percent on Thursday as\u00a0the attacks\u00a0stoked fears of\u00a0additional\u00a0disruption to energy supplies already\u00a0facing\u00a0constraints due to the\u00a0US-Israel war on Iran.<\/p>\n<p>Recommended Stories list of 4 itemsend of list<\/p>\n<p>Brent futures for November ended the day above $106.50 a barrel on Thursday, after earlier exceeding $108.<\/p>\n<p>Prices eased slightly on Friday morning in Asia, with the benchmark standing at $105.77 a barrel as of 02:00 GMT.<\/p>\n<p>The Houthis on Thursday said they had launched missile and drone attacks on a \u201csensitive target\u201d in Riyadh and Aramco facilities in the Red Sea city of Yanbu.<\/p>\n<p>The rebel group said both operations \u201cachieved their\u00a0objectives successfully\u201d in a statement carried by the\u00a0Houthi-run Yemen News Agency.<\/p>\n<p>Saudi-led coalition forces said earlier that they intercepted six ballistic missiles fired by the Houthis towards the kingdom.<\/p>\n<p>Saudi authorities have not\u00a0confirmed whether the attacks\u00a0caused any damage or casualties.<\/p>\n<p>Aramco, which supplies roughly 10 percent of global oil demand, did not respond to inquiries outside of regular business hours.<\/p>\n<p>The latest flare-up in violence in the Middle East comes as the US and Iran are engaged in renewed diplomatic efforts to find a resolution to their seven-month conflict on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York.<\/p>\n<p>Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said on Thursday that he hoped Washington would return to their Memorandum of Understanding on ending the war, which lapsed in mid-August without a peace deal, before the US midterm elections in November.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRelative to the post-war trend, these levels remain elevated and reflect the reality that critical supply routes and facilities are still vulnerable,\u201d Tim Waterer, chief market \u200canalyst at KCM Trade in Sydney, Australia, told Al Jazeera.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDiplomatic efforts on the sidelines of the UN are providing some counterweight, but until there is clearer evidence of a durable de-escalation, the upside bias remains in place,\u201d Waterer said.<\/p>\n<p>June Goh, a senior oil market analyst at Sparta Commodities in Singapore, said oil would likely stay above $100 a barrel as long as the war on Iran continued.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith no clear resolution in sight, the gap in oil inventories globally is getting wider,\u201d Goh told Al Jazeera.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Brent crude tops $106 a barrel after Iran-aligned rebel group claims to have successfully attacked Aramco facilities.
