By Kishore R<\/a><\/p>\n Sep 25, 20266 hours ago4 min read<\/p>\n Colby Covington has never exactly been the biggest believer in Paddy Pimblett. <\/p>\n That was clear long before the Liverpool native became the No. 5-ranked fighter in UFC\u2019s lightweight division, and it hasn\u2019t changed now, not even a tad bit.\u00a0<\/p>\n When the conversation turned to Islam Makhachev’s wrestling as UFC’s <\/a>Pound-for-Pound king, Covington went a step further. The former UFC title challenger believes the current welterweight champion\u2019s skill set would not translate particularly well to a pure wrestling environment, like RAF.\u00a0<\/p>\n Colby Covington Still Isn\u2019t Buying the Paddy Pimblett Hype<\/p>\n Pimblett and Covington have had unfinished business for some time. Their backstage confrontation following UFC 314<\/a> only added another chapter to a feud between two of MMA\u2019s biggest stars.\u00a0<\/p>\n Covington famously confronted Pimblett backstage after the Englishman\u2019s win over Michael Chandler<\/a>, questioning the quality of the opposition and accusing him of running his mouth. Pimblett, meanwhile, fired back, and the two have continued to take shots at one another since.<\/p>\n When asked about the 30-year-old lightweight, \u201cChaos\u201d<\/a> chose to downplay his credentials, \u201cI don\u2019t see anything special. I want to see more. I think there\u2019s still a lot of unproven.\u201d Shrugging off Pimblett\u2019s recent first-round submission win over Benoit Saint Denis, Covington added<\/a>, \u201cI don\u2019t think he has done anything crazy. Beating a BSD in a submission like that is not an impressive win. That\u2019s a guy that got beat up by the Brazilian kid\u2026 (Renato) Moicano. He was beat up by Dustin Poirier, who knocked him out.\u201d<\/p>\n
