Sean Strickland was in Bryce Mitchell’s corner when he took on Mikey Musumeci at UFC BJJ 11, and Strickland’s advice for Mitchell during the bout was comedic gold.

When former UFC Middleweight Champion Sean Strickland agrees to stand in your corner, you already know technical grappling advice is probably taking a backseat to unhinged entertainment. That exact scenario unfolded at the latest UFC BJJ event, where featherweight contender Bryce Mitchell called upon Strickland to coach him against grappling superstar Mikey Musumeci.

As expected, Strickland’s commentary from the sidelines delivered absolute comedy gold, leaving fans and even the opponent in stitches.

Facing off against a multi-time IBJJF world champion in Musumeci, Mitchell was already facing a massive technical uphill battle on the mats. Having Strickland shouting instructions from the sidelines turned an intense submission match into a viral comedy routine.

Captured on official corner audio, Strickland’s tactical advice consisted less of guard passes and more of pure, unfiltered frustration with the sport itself.

“He’s gonna go for a choke or an armbar! Or a kimura or some sh*t. Some gay jiu jitsu thing,” Strickland shouted as Musumeci hunted for submissions.
