{"id":912485,"date":"2026-09-28T06:20:15","date_gmt":"2026-09-28T06:20:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/912485\/"},"modified":"2026-09-28T06:20:15","modified_gmt":"2026-09-28T06:20:15","slug":"over-12000-pumpkins-on-display-at-lesters-farm-despite-challenging-year","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/912485\/","title":{"rendered":"Over 12,000 Pumpkins on Display at Lester\u2019s Farm, Despite Challenging Year"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t\t\t\t&#13;<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/pumpkin-farm-greenhouse-1.jpg\" class=\"header-image\" alt=\"Over 12,000 Pumpkins on Display at Lester's Farm, Despite Challenging Year\"\/><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Lester&#8217;s Farm pumpkin patch (VOCM News)<\/p>\n<p>The weather in the spring and summer this year was challenging for farmers \u2013 you wouldn\u2019t say it from the crops that have been harvested at Lester\u2019s Farm Market though.<\/p>\n<p>Co-owner Chris Lester\u2019s describes this year as a \u201creal head scratcher,\u201d saying it was \u201ca challenge right from the start.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In spite of that, he says some of his crops are doing really well.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/lesters-farm-potatoes.jpg\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-311622\" class=\"wp-image-311622 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/lesters-farm-potatoes.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"400\"  \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p id=\"caption-attachment-311622\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Lester\u2019s Farm potatoes (VOCM News)<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s probably our best year we\u2019ve ever had on potatoes. Pumpkins were late ripening but a very good year on those as well,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Lester states that there is a \u201csea of orange\u201d at their site. There are currently between 12,000 and 14,000 pumpkins on display, and the harvest is still ongoing.<\/p>\n<p>He says pumpkin \u201crules the world\u201d this time of year. He tells a story that \u201cthe other day we were coming down the road with a big load of pumpkins on the trailer and blew out a tire.
