Vasiliy Lomachenko is reportedly inching closer towards making his comeback after it was revealed earlier this year that he would step out of retirement.<\/p>\n
The Ukrainian called time on his glittering career in 2024, not long after claiming the IBF lightweight title with an 11th-round stoppage of George Kambosos Jr.<\/p>\n
By that point, he was coming off a unanimous decision defeat to Devin Haney but had already become a three-division world champion, as well as a two-time Olympic gold medallist in the amateur code.<\/p>\n
But despite having cemented his legacy as one of the modern greats, Lomachenko has identified now as an opportune time to return to the sport<\/a>.<\/p>\n This is partly because his promotional deal with Top Rank expired earlier this year, with the 38-year-old now free to pursue opportunities elsewhere.<\/p>\n If he decides to continue working with Bob Arum\u2019s promotional outfit, though, then Lomachenko could be offered a clash with the winner of Emanuel Navarrete vs O\u2019Shaquie Foster.<\/p>\n Their super-featherweight unification match takes place on October 24 and, already, WBC champion Foster has expressed his interest in facing \u2018The Matrix\u2019<\/a>.<\/p>\n Before exploring that potential contest, however, Lomachenko has reportedly told Brian Custer<\/a> that he will return to his former division of 130lbs in November.<\/p>\n Look who\u2019s at these @SalitaProm<\/a> in Puerto Rico \ud83c\uddf5\ud83c\uddf7 @VasylLomachenko<\/a>
