The Edmonton Elks outlasted the Hamilton Tiger-Cats 37-35 in overtime at Commonwealth Stadium, a game that had no business being that close given Edmonton‘s 452-317 edge in total offense. The win pushes Edmonton to 11-4 and keeps them glued to Montreal atop the West/overall standings, while Hamilton drops to 4-11 with little left to play for down the stretch.

Box Score

Team

Q1

Q2

Q3

Q4

OT

Final

Hamilton Tiger-Cats

10

0

6

13

6

35

Edmonton Elks

3

12

10

4

8

37

See full player stats and game details

Game Highlights

Top PerformersEdmonton ElksHamilton Tiger-CatsTeam Stats

Stat

Hamilton Tiger-Cats

Edmonton Elks

Total Yards

317

452

Passing

17/34, 214 yds, 2 TD

32/47, 298 yds, 0 TD

Rushing

17 att, 103 yds, 1 TD

22 att, 154 yds, 1 TD

Turnovers

2

1

Quick Hits

Edmonton piled up 452 yards of offense but couldn’t find the end zone through the air, with Fajardo throwing for 298 yards and zero touchdowns.

Harrison Frost tossed two touchdowns but also threw two picks, and Hamilton’s defense forced overtime despite giving up 135 more total yards than they gained.

Justin Rankin was a factor on the ground and through the air for Edmonton, finishing with 74 rushing yards and 42 receiving yards — a workhorse day worth monitoring for fantasy purposes.

What’s Next

Edmonton Elks (11-4) — no game listed in Week 18; check the Full Schedule for updates

Hamilton Tiger-Cats (4-11) — at Ottawa Redblacks, October 2

CFL Standings | Full Schedule | League Leaders

What’s your takeaway?
