{"id":91368,"date":"2025-08-23T14:24:07","date_gmt":"2025-08-23T14:24:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/91368\/"},"modified":"2025-08-23T14:24:07","modified_gmt":"2025-08-23T14:24:07","slug":"jannik-sinner-pinpoints-what-carlos-alcaraz-can-do-which-other-players-on-the-atp-tour-simply-cannot","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/91368\/","title":{"rendered":"Jannik Sinner pinpoints what Carlos Alcaraz can do which other players on the ATP Tour simply cannot"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz\u2019s rivalry is already one for the history books, having met 14 times on the ATP Tour.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/atp\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">ATP<\/a> world number one and two took their rivalry to another level in 2025, as they began contesting Grand Slam finals against each other.<\/p>\n<p>In Paris, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/news\/the-one-shot-which-cost-jannik-sinner-the-french-open-title-has-been-identified-he-will-look-back-on-that-one\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Alcaraz saved championship points to beat Sinner<\/a> in the Roland Garros final, 4-6, 6-7, 6-4, 7-6, 7-6.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" loading=\"lazy\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/GettyImages-2219195808-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"Carlos Alcaraz poses with the French Open title after winning in 2025\" class=\"wp-image-101066\" \/>Photo by Julian Finney\/Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>Getting his revenge at SW19, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/news\/marion-bartoli-noticed-what-carlos-alcaraz-did-when-jannik-sinner-returned-to-the-court-as-wimbledon-champion\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Sinner defeated Alcaraz<\/a> in four sets to clinch his maiden Wimbledon title.<\/p>\n<p>Many are predicting the pair to face off once more in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/us-open\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">US Open<\/a> final next month, as they look to continue their streak of Grand Slam dominance.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to the media just days before the tournament begins, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/jannik-sinner\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Sinner<\/a> explained why Alcaraz is so difficult to beat and highlighted what sets him apart from other ATP Tour stars.<\/p>\n<p>Jannik Sinner says Carlos Alcaraz reaches balls that other ATP Tour stars can\u2019t<\/p>\n<p>During his pre-tournament press conference, Sinner shared his thoughts on his rivalry with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/carlos-alcaraz\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Alcaraz<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWell, we are two different players, you know. I think he is obviously very fast on court,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo, you know, with maybe other players, the point could be over at times, but he reaches certain balls, so he can read the game in a different way.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey are already these longer rallies sometimes.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cObviously, we know each other now better. It\u2019s a very tactical game. He prepares the match in a different way than he used to prepare it. We are just different, you know,\u201d said Sinner.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut at the same time, it\u2019s great to see, because it makes it very interesting. The only thing we have in common is that we practice very hard (smiling). We make choices for tennis, you know.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s now our first priority at the moment, which it has to be, because it\u2019s very small, small details make the difference. It\u2019s just a question of time,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo we or what I am trying to do is to understand what I can work on. Then we have certain areas of the game, certainly, where we can work on. From my point of view, that\u2019s positive. It only makes me a better tennis player, and in the future.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt the moment, me and Carlos, we are sharing big trophies, but at the same time, things can change.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere are great, great players out there, and to get to the final, it\u2019s very difficult to get there, you know.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo let\u2019s see if this continues. But on the other hand, I always say we have to improve, because players understand us now, how we are.
