Unveiled on the occasion of Watches and Wonders Geneva 2025, the Nomos Club Sport Neomatik Worldtimer<\/a> caused quite a stir, being almost unanimously praised, including by us<\/a>, for its design, functionality and reasonable price (at least considering what you get in return\u2026) First released in brushed silver or blue editions, several other models later joined the collection. This includes the 6 colourful limited models of 2025<\/a>, the bold Night Navigation Series<\/a>, or the surprising Reverie and Roam Editions<\/a>. Recently, Nomos released the Radiant White Version<\/a>\u2026 Today, we\u2019re somehow getting its opposite, with the new Club Sport Neomatik Worldtimer Dark. But this new edition shouldn\u2019t be limited to its black enamel-like dial, as it reveals a different character after dark.\u00a0<\/p>\n

From bright to dark\u2026 Indeed, the recent Radiant White Version<\/a> gave us a very bright, luminous take on the brand\u2019s practical traveller\u2019s watch. The latest edition is playing in the opposite territory and pushes the concept initiated by the Night Navigation Series<\/a> even further. With their black dials and colourful accents, these were meant to \u201cnighttime travel and the glimmer of city lights seen from above\u201d, but also navigation instruments found in a cockpit. The Club Sport Neomatik Worldtimer Dark brings something extra, in the name of lume\u2026 a lot of lume.<\/p>\n

Let\u2019s start with what we already know, namely the entire technical architecture. Specification-wise, this new Dark edition is all identical to the previous versions we\u2019ve seen of this watch, starting with a nicely proportioned stainless steel case measuring 40mm in diameter, with a truly enjoyable thickness of only 9.9mm (who said that complicated watches needed to be thick\u2026? Not Nomos, apparently). And despite this real slenderness, the case features a screw-down crown, a screwed caseback (with or without sapphire crystal) and is water-resistant to 100m. Sure, you could argue about the 48mm lug-to-lug, but for once, the case is not overly long, as it sometimes is at Nomos. On the wrist, nothing has changed, and it is still a watch with great comfort.<\/p>\n

Again, functions have not changed, and the Club Sport Neomatik Worldtimer Dark retains the practical aspects of its predecessor<\/a>. The central hands and small seconds at 6 o\u2019clock indicate the local time, as it should be in a traveller\u2019s watch. The periphery is devoted to the city disc and can be changed using the pusher at 2 o\u2019clock, which also moves the local hour hand forward by one-hour increments. Finally, a sub-dial at 3 o\u2019clock indicates the home time on a 24-hour scale, with a bicolour ring working as a day-night indicator. A side note: this watch is more of an advanced GMT watch<\/a> than a proper worldtimer<\/a>, in the classic Cottier-styled definition. It\u2019s basically a GMT + city ring watch, which doesn\u2019t detract much from the overall traveller\u2019s practicality.<\/p>\n

So now, let\u2019s talk about what makes this Worldtimer Dark different, starting with its looks during the day. Here, you\u2019ll find a nice, glossy black surface with a finish that the brand calls \u201cenamel\u201d (but it\u2019s no proper \u201cgrand feu\u201d enamel), which extends to the small seconds counter at 6 o\u2019clock. All other elements \u2013 hands, hour markers and numerals, 24h sub-dial, city ring \u2013 are rendered in a warm off-white colour for a nice contrast. The reason these elements are not classic white is that they are all coated in light blue-emitting Super-LumiNova. As such, after dark, the entire worldtime display comes to life, giving the dial a totally different character while also keeping all 24 time zones in full sight.<\/p>\n

As before, the Club Sport Neomatik Worldtimer Dark relies on the thin and compact Neomatik movement<\/a>, here calibre DUW 3202. This central rotor, in-house automatic movement runs at 3Hz and stores 42 hours of power reserve. It is equipped with the brand\u2019s swing system (blue balance spring) and is adjusted in 6 positions. The decoration is pleasant, with thin stripes, blued screws and a classic 3\/4 plate.<\/p>\n

Finally, the new Dark is worn on a 3-link steel bracelet with polished and brushed surfaces. It is equipped with a scratch-sensitive polished clasp and still lacks a micro-adjustment system, two possible elements that would greatly improve daily wearability.<\/p>\n

Released as part of the permanent collection, the Nomos Club Sport Neomatik Worldtimer Dark retails for EUR 4,400 with a sapphire caseback and a steel bracelet. Note that a solid back and several textile or leather straps are also available as options, all making it a bit more accessible.<\/p>\n
