Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment CEO Tad Brown said that LeBron James\u2019 signing<\/a>, the 76ers\u2019 other personnel moves and talk of a new arena have \u201cgenerated excitement that has fueled greater interest in sponsorship opportunities with the team,\u201d according to John George of the PHILADELPHIA BUSINESS JOURNAL. Brown said that the Sixers and Crypto.com, the team\u2019s previous jersey patch sponsor, \u201cmutually agreed to end their deal early.\u201d That kicked off a process that started before there were trade discussions this summer involving G Jaylen Brown<\/a>. The 76ers\u2019 search for a new jersey sponsor came to a conclusion Monday when the team and Bloom Energy announced a multiyear agreement<\/a>. As the Sixers were in the process of rethinking their sponsorship lineup, Bloom Energy founder & CEO K.R. Sridhar was \u201csimultaneously looking for ways to build the company\u2019s brand.\u201d Sridhar said that the \u201cexcitement generated by the Brown trade and James\u2019 signing helped seal the deal.\u201d He said the 76ers\u2019 offseason \u201cmade our decision a lot easier.\u201d As Sixers GM Mike Gansey began assembling the team\u2019s roster, HBSE\u2019s Brown said that \u201cpeople began to take notice.\u201d Brown did not say if the Sixers were close to a deal with any other potential sponsors or how many companies it spoke with about the jersey patch opportunity (PHILADELPHIA BUSINESS JOURNAL, 9\/28<\/a>). <\/p>\n

IMPACT FAR AND WIDE: CNBC.com\u2019s Sherman & Golden wrote the \u201cLeBron economy has already been a win for Philadelphia.\u201d Brown said, \u201cHe\u2019s going to make that impact on the organization, and then from an economic perspective, all that stuff follows.\u201d The 76ers noted that they are already seeing an \u201cimmediate impact in the form of ticket sales<\/a>.\u201d Brown said, \u201cWe\u2019ve had a tremendous surge in people who are interested in becoming season ticket holders.\u201d Per ticket reseller StubHub, 76ers tickets are the \u201chottest tickets out there\u201d on the secondary market. StubHub said that the Sixers \u201cwent from 22nd to first in NBA tickets sold for both home and road games.\u201d Tickets are \u201cselling 11 times more than what they had at this point last year.\u201d Since he announced his move to Philadelphia, James is also the \u201cbest-selling athlete<\/a> across all of sports on the entire Fanatics platform\u201d (CNBC.com, 9\/28<\/a>). <\/p>\n

NOT FOR NOTHING: In his first appearance as a 76er<\/a>, James said he \u201cdidn\u2019t leave my family to lose in the second round.\u201d SI\u2019s Liam McKeone wrote that quote \u201cwill follow the 76ers around all season long, no matter what happens.\u201d James\u2019 wife and youngest daughter \u201cstill reside\u201d in L.A. His oldest son Bronny plays for the Lakers and his second son Bryce plays for the Univ. of Arizona. Geographically, there \u201cweren\u2019t many options further than Philadelphia from all James holds dear.\u201d In 10 minutes, James \u201cmade clear what he thought of that standard.\u201d McKeone: \u201cWhen LeBron is in town, there isn\u2019t hope.
