From September 30, 2026, to February 28, 2027, explore Carrie Allison: ask\u014dht\u0113skanohw\u0113 at the McCord Stewart Museum.<\/p>\n
Tracing M\u00e9tis family history, cultural knowledge and connections through intricate beadwork, the exhibition draws on beadwork from her family\u2019s home region in northwest Alberta, where Allison reconnects with her ancestors and explores the relationships, knowledge and traditions that shaped regional floral beadwork.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The exhibition brings colonial records and traditional handwork into conversation, using beadwork as a way to share stories, reclaim knowledge and connect generations.<\/p>\n
The experience is designed with families in mind, too. BEADZ 2.0, an interactive installation featuring 25 giant foam beads, invites children to play, build and explore.<\/p>\n

Featuring material culture from First Nations, Inuit and M\u00e9tis communities across Canada, as well as parts of the United States, Siberia and Greenland, the collection offers a glimpse into the incredible diversity, history and richness of Indigenous cultures.<\/p>\n Time Out Tip: from October 2026, the Museum\u2019s ground floor will welcome visitors in a warm, light-filled space featuring a brand-new caf\u00e9 and boutique you won\u2019t want to miss.<\/p>\n The McCord Stewart Museum is just two blocks from Time Out Market Montr\u00e9al<\/a>, located inside the Montr\u00e9al Eaton Centre<\/a>, with seamless access to the McGill REM station and this new massive fashion retailer<\/a> on the metro level.<\/p>\n Is the McCord Stewart Museum\u202ffree?<\/p>\n Check out the admission details below:<\/p>\n Free Wednesday evenings: Admission to Carrie Allison: ask\u014dht\u0113skanohw\u0113 and the permanent exhibition is free. Admission to second-floor exhibitions is $10 online or $12 at the door.<\/p>\n First Sunday of every month: Pay what you can.<\/p>\n Free admission for visitors 17 and under is available with ID and applies to general public visits. Children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult, with a maximum of three children per adult. Organized and group visits are subject to group rates.<\/p>\n Free Wednesday evenings are made possible by BMO Financial Group. Free admission for children 12 and under is supported by the Fondation J.A. DeS\u00e8ve, while the Rossy Foundation supports free admission for ages 13 to 17.
