REGINA\u2013The pre-season tune-ups are now in the past, and its time to play for real.<\/p>\n
Expectations for the Saskatchewan Roughriders are high after making an appearance in the West Final last season.<\/p>\n
This year, the Riders game is also doubling as the CFL\u2019s Season Opener for 2025, with the Ottawa Redblacks in town.<\/p>\n
Weather for the game looks okay.\u00a0 There is a 30 percent chance of showers and thundershowers late in the afternoon, and into the early evening.\u00a0 Last week, the pre season game was pushed back an hour because of air quality issues from fires in northern Saskatchewan.<\/p>\n
The \u201cMosaic Cultural Festival\u201d is getting started tonight as well, with some of the pavilions on the REAL District Grounds, so parking could be at a premium.\u00a0 It may be best to take \u201cRider Transit\u201d. Free bus transit is available from various locations across the city including Southland\u00a0Mall, University of Regina, the Turvey Centre, Victoria Avenue and Scarth\u00a0Street. With construction on Dewdney Avenue, the Warehouse District stops will be at\u00a06th\u00a0Avenue and Rose Street and 8th\u00a0Avenue and Scarth Street. Buses run starting 1 hour and 45 minutes before a Rider game. The last bus departs each location 30 minutes before kickoff. Buses will return to the drop off locations at the start of the 4th\u00a0quarter and continue to shuttle until 75 minutes after the game has ended.<\/p>\n
Game-day action starts well before kickoff, with the Coors Light Party in the Park beginning at 4 p.m. in Confederation Park. It features live performances from DJ Tolley T and the Harvard Media\u00a0Saskatchewan\u00a0Roughrider Cheer Team. Face painters and balloon artists will be on hand for our littlest Riders fans, and the inflatables will be ready for even more fun. Plus, don\u2019t miss the chance to meet some of our stars with a player autograph session \u2013 players will be announced later in the week! Come early and bring the whole crew as we gear up for an unforgettable night cheering on the Riders!<\/p>\n
The halftime performance will feature rising Canadian country music star Brayden King, the 6\u20199\u2033 dynamo whose larger-than-life stage presence is turning heads across North America.<\/p>\n
Hailing from Weyburn, SK, Brayden rocketed his way to stardom after snagging the legendary \u201cGolden Ticket\u201d on Season 21 of American Idol.<\/p>\n
In 2023, he unleashed three singles that cracked the Top 100 on Canadian Country Radio.<\/p>\n
Country superstar Luke Bryan dubbed King \u201cthe perfect mix between Ed Sheeran and Stapleton.\u201d His performances are nothing short of a high-voltage, in-your-face party \u2014 an unforgettable experience that defines the term \u201cenergy.\u201d Make sure to head over to the Pepsi Stage at halftime to get in on the action!<\/p>\n
