\n\tLyrical Animation is developing a new animation series based on \u201cRuneScape<\/a>\u201d in partnership with creator Charlie \u201cMoistCr1TiKaL\u201d White and game developer Jagex, the company\u2019s CEO Jon Bellamy announced on stage at RuneFest in Birmingham, UK, on Saturday.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe project will bring the world of Gielinor to the screen, and marks a new step in Jagex\u2019s ambition to expand the \u201cRuneScape\u201d world beyond the gaming ecosystem.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cFor 25 years, our players have helped shape \u2018RuneScape\u2019s\u2019 extraordinary world, its characters and its stories,\u201d said Bellamy. \u201cWhen we talk about the future of \u2018RuneScape,\u2019 we don\u2019t just mean games. We see huge potential to bring Gielinor to life in new ways, both for the millions who already know and love it and for a whole new audience. It\u2019s early days, but we\u2019re excited to explore that potential with Charlie and the team at Lyrical Animation, and we wanted our players to be the first to know.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tJagex first released \u201cRuneScape\u201d in 2001, and it has grown into a massively popular fantasy multiplayer online role-playing game. Through quests, combat, exploration and cooperative adventures, players can forge their own paths through the medieval fantasy world of Gielinor. The franchise now includes \u201cRuneScape,\u201d \u201cOld School RuneScape\u201d and \u201cRuneScape Dragonwilds<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tWhite is a longtime member of the \u201cRuneScape\u201d community and has amassed more than 25 million followers across his channels and platforms. \u201cI\u2019ve been playing RuneScape for 22 years, and it\u2019s one of my favorite IPs ever,\u201d said White. \u201cI\u2019m so excited to be working with the team on this project.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cRuneScape has such a unique storytelling voice, at once laugh-out-loud funny and effortlessly insightful,\u201d said Daniel Dominguez, creative director of Lyrical Animation. \u201cTo be allowed to help bring that to life for its millions of fans alongside our dear friend Charlie again is a dream come true.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tLyrical Animation will produce the project alongside White\u2019s Meatier Productions.
