NASCAR issued a post-race penalty despite the big crash at Las Vegas Motor Speedway<\/p>\n
On Saturday night, the NASCAR O\u2019Reilly Series raced at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. It marked the third of nine Chase races.<\/p>\n
Brandon Jones started stage two from the race lead. He then slammed the wall on lap 55. The No. 22 car wiggled loose just after a pit stop. It was suspected the crash was caused by a loose wheel.<\/p>\n

In the crash, Jones collected another chase contender, Justin Allgaier. The No. 7 crew was able to make extensive repairs and get Allgaier back on track.<\/p>\n
For Jones, he was also disqualified after the race. Despite the mangled machine, the No. 20 car was found with four or more loose lugnuts after the race resulting in the DQ.<\/p>\n

\u201cYeah, shoot, it\u2019s just the pit stop,\u201d Brandon Jones stated.<\/p>\n
\u201cI mean, they\u2019re trying to get me out front, I guess, and it\u2019s just right now every mistake like this is a detriment to the season. It\u2019s like, give up a half-second to maybe just maintain. It\u2019s like, you just don\u2019t have to hit the home runs right now, and I don\u2019t know, I don\u2019t know what we need to do better other than just execute from the the team\u2019s standpoint.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cUnfortunately, I\u2019m not a finger-pointer at all. I mean, there\u2019s always things that I could do better on all these races, but at the end of the day, it\u2019s all these little decisions of staying out and not pitting, and then having mistakes like this on pit road with the loose wheels. It\u2019s like constant, nonstop things that are out of my control that I can\u2019t figure out how to get to stop.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cSo it\u2019s difficult when it\u2019s like this. It\u2019s really hard to stop the bleeding. You see it time and time again with other cars and other teams and drivers.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s whoever can not make mistakes, and the guys that make mistakes end up not winning, and they end up falling out like we currently are, unfortunately. So we\u2019ve just got to keep pushing, though. We got to keep going race to race, can\u2019t be a quitter. You can\u2019t give up in these moments.\u201d<\/p>\n
