MICHELLE CENIZA, Surrey Now

A family doctor and mother of three who sees the damaging repercussions of inadequate resources not only for students but teachers as well.

TOP 3 PRIORITIES

• Ensure adequate resources for students and teachers.

• Promote school safety with one liaison officer per school, keep out drugs and vaping.

• Partner with parents.

EXPAND ON ONE OF THE ABOVE PRIORITIES

Michelle’s Number 1 Pillar

As a family doctor, I see my patients struggle when there is not enough support for students with neurodiversity, anxiety, learning difficulties, bullying, etc. My patients that are teachers are also overwhelmed because of the big class sizes and lack of support staff for challenging students. When elected, the first thing I would do is take a hard look at the budget and prioritize the fundamental needs: support staff, band programs, bus programs, Strong Start and Learning Centres.

WHY SHOULD PEOPLE VOTE FOR YOU?

I am stepping up to advocate for Surrey Education from the unique lens of a health care provider who sees the negative effects of inadequate support.
