Two physicians will approve each AI-generated prescription before they\u2019re issued for the first 100 patients, but will start reviewing them only after they\u2019re prescribed for up to 500 patients. \u201cAfter that, physicians review a sample of at least 10% of prescriptions every month, plus every case involving an escalation or side effect,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nollahealth.com\/ai-prescriptions\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Nolla Health says<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1044qizi _18mzr4b1 _18mzr4b0 _19wv7tc1\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/ai-artificial-intelligence\/906525\/ai-chatbot-prescribe-refill-psychiatric-drugs\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Several other<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.businesswire.com\/news\/home\/20261005563056\/en\/August-AI-Approved-to-Pilot-AI-Assisted-Prescription-Renewals-for-Patients-with-Chronic-Conditions-in-Utah\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">healthcare companies<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fiercehealthcare.com\/ai-and-machine-learning\/deep-dive-doctronics-ai-prescription-refill-pilot-program-utah\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">are experimenting<\/a> with AI-generated prescriptions in Utah, which <a href=\"https:\/\/www.axios.com\/local\/salt-lake-city\/2026\/01\/07\/utah-ai-drug-prescriptions-doctronic\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">started allowing AI systems to renew<\/a> certain medications earlier this year. But Nolla Health says it\u2019s the first in the country to issue initial prescriptions, rather than renewals. \u201cThe pilot is designed to complement, not replace, physicians,\u201d Nolla Health writes in its press release. \u201cBy handling routine, low-acuity cases, Nolla Derm frees dermatologists to focus on complex, high-risk patients.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1044qizi _18mzr4b1 _18mzr4b0 _19wv7tc1\">The program will cost $4.99 \/ month, and only applies to Utah residents who are 18 years of age or older and have mild-to-moderate acne.
