At the famous Goodwood Festival of Speed earlier this year, a group of F1 champions gathered for a discussion regarding the sport and how it has evolved over the last 75 years.<\/p>\n
Involved in this talk were Mika Hakkinen, Jackie Stewart, Alain Prost, Nigel Mansell, Jacques Villeneuve, Mario Andretti and Emerson Fittipaldi.<\/p>\n
The discussion between the seven drivers was released in full on the F1 YouTube channel earlier this week.<\/p>\n
Of course, there are various world championship-winning drivers missing from the list – including 2007 title holder Kimi Raikkonen.<\/p>\n
Taking to social media, Raikkonen could not resist taking a swipe at the omission via social media.<\/p>\n
Responding to the official Formula 1 Instagram post about the meeting, Raikkonen posted a comment that was perfectly in character: “Thanks for the invite.”<\/p>\n
His deadpan reaction immediately struck a chord with fans, with the comment rapidly going viral and accumulating more than 18,000 likes.<\/p>\n
Since his retirement from Formula 1 at the end of the 2021 season, Raikkonen has made only sporadic public appearances, largely stepping away from the motorsport spotlight.\u00a0<\/p>\n
