Yet on the day marking this tragedy, which ushered three years of exploding antisemitism, downtown Montreal is set to once again be <a href=\"https:\/\/montrealgazette.com\/news\/pro-palestinian-protesters-disrupt-montreal-pride-parade\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">disrupted by protests.<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Despite repeated calls for better security measures, Jews, who comprise just one per cent of the Canadian population, remain the targets of roughly two-thirds of reported <a href=\"https:\/\/montrealgazette.com\/news\/antisemitism-reached-perilous-record-setting-heights-in-2024-especially-in-quebec-bnai-brith-canada\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">religiously motivated hate crimes<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We have prioritized, and will continue to prioritize, the safety and security of our community by advocating for funding, collaborating with authorities, and strengthening our internal security capacity.
