Spire Motorsports has signed Kasey Kahne for 2027<\/p>\n
The rumors are now confirmed.<\/p>\n
Kasey Kahne will return to NASCAR in 2027 with Spire Motorsports. He\u2019ll drive the No. 77 Chevrolet Silverado RST.<\/p>\n
The 46-year-old retired due to health reasons in the middle of the 2018 NASCAR Cup Series season. He ran 529 Cup races over a 15-year career and collected 18 race wins.<\/p>\n
Kasey Kahne states that health issues played a role in his retirement<\/a><\/p>\n Kahne has just six starts in the NASCAR Truck Series. He went to victory lane in five of those races. His most recent win was in 2015.<\/p>\n In recent years, he\u2019s been racing 410 sprint cars with the World of Outlaws and High Limit Racing. Now, he\u2019s set for a return to NASCAR\u2026<\/p>\n Spire Motorsports comments on the return of Kasey Kahne<\/p>\n Jeff Dickerson approached Kahne with the opportunity during the 2026 Knoxville Nationals.<\/p>\n \u201cThis is one of the coolest announcements we\u2019ve been able to make,\u201d said Spire Motorsports Co-Owner Jeff Dickerson via the team release.<\/p>\n \u201cKasey is not only a legendary driver but is someone that Spire shares a long history with. Having him in one of our trucks running for a championship means a lot to our organization and we fully trust that he has the same competitive nature and drive to win that he\u2019s always had.\u201d<\/p>\n Knoxville Nationals Results<\/a><\/p>\n Kasey Kahne comments on his return to NASCAR<\/p>\n \u201cWhen Jeff (Dickerson) first asked me about running trucks for Spire Motorsports, I didn\u2019t think he was serious,\u201d said Kahne.<\/p>\n \u201cTo be out of the sport for as long as I was and to have the opportunity to race for a strong FedEx Freight Truck Series team, or even full time in NASCAR again, was a bit of a surprise. The thought of a return to pavement racing and involvement in something that I was a part of for so long was exciting.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cIt started sounding pretty good and I\u2019m thankful for the opportunity to come back with a team that knows how to win.\u201d<\/p>\n Kahne added, \u201cI kept up with NASCAR enough to know that Spire wins races. I saw Kyle Busch\u2019s wins this year, I watched Rajah (Caruth) a lot last year and keep up with what he\u2019s doing.
