As Jimmy Kimmel\u2019s time at Disney draws to a close, it has exposed a fraught relationship behind the scenes.<\/p>\n
As Page Six previously reported<\/a>, the longtime late-night host is expected to end his show later this year after 24 years. <\/p>\n And sources tell Page Six he\u2019s partially to blame because he\u2019s \u201cnever played well in the sandbox.\u201d<\/p>\n For example, he\u2019s seldom appeared on the company\u2019s ABC shows like \u201cGood Morning America\u201d and \u201cThe View\u201d because, we\u2019re told, \u201che doesn\u2019t want to be a shill.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cAnd when he does, he\u2019s a complete a\u2013hole,\u201d according to one source.<\/p>\n Sources described Jimmy Kimmel as \u201cunmanageable.\u201d Disney via Getty Images<\/p>\n Kimmel seldom reciprocated despite ABC shows \u201cpropping him up.\u201d Getty Images for Keep Memory Alive<\/p>\n The insider said he expects Disney shows to \u201cprop up the stuff he was doing.\u201d \u201cBut he would never reciprocate,\u201d they said, \u201cHe would never have anyone on from ABC News\u2026 People would get upset.\u201d<\/p>\n Multiple sources shared similar stories, adding the \u201cJimmy Kimmel Live\u201d star seldom invited New York talent to his show when he brings it to Brooklyn every year. \u201cHe\u2019s unmanageable,\u201d another source said and pointed out how he roasted Disney brass at the upfronts in May. \u201cIt was uncomfortable to say the least,\u201d they said.<\/p>\n Kimmel rarely made appearances on shows like \u201cThe View.\u201d ABC via Getty Images<\/p>\n ABC hasn\u2019t renewed \u201cJimmy Kimmel Live!\u201d beyond season 25. Disney<\/p>\n Other insiders pushed back, saying Kimmel welcomed \u201c66 synergy guests\u201d since October of last year, noting his May appearance on \u201cGMA,\u201d followed by appearances on \u201cLive with Kelly and Mark,\u201d and his obligatory taped messages to ABC\u2019s local affiliate stations. Additionally, they pointed out, Kimmel has hosted the Oscars, which airs on ABC, numerous times.<\/p>\n And even though they insist he\u2019s been a team player for all of his 25 seasons, our first source jeered: \u201cHe\u2019s being a better corporate partner because he was on thin ice.\u201d They referred to Kimmel\u2019s antagonistic relationship with President Donald Trump<\/a> that got him temporarily pulled from the airwaves last year.<\/p>\n
