{"id":926680,"date":"2026-10-09T15:40:14","date_gmt":"2026-10-09T15:40:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/926680\/"},"modified":"2026-10-09T15:40:14","modified_gmt":"2026-10-09T15:40:14","slug":"its-just-weird-isack-hadjar-confused-by-undriveable-red-bull-f1-car","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/926680\/","title":{"rendered":"\u201cIt\u2019s just weird\u201d \u2013 Isack Hadjar confused by \u2018undriveable\u2019 Red Bull F1 car"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.motorsport.com\/driver\/isack-hadjar\/827922\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Isack Hadjar<\/a> was left dumbfounded by his Red Bull car in sprint qualifying at Formula 1\u2019s Singapore Grand Prix, unable to explain his lack of performance.<\/p>\n<p>Hadjar complained that his RB22 was bottoming out too much in the only free practice session, where he was fourth-fastest on hard rubber \u2013 quicker than <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motorsport.com\/driver\/max-verstappen\/17529\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Max Verstappen<\/a> \u2013 but seven tenths down on the Dutchman when they switched to the medium compound.<\/p>\n<p>Crucially, the yellow-walled tyres were going to be used in SQ1 and SQ2, where Hadjar\u2019s deficit to his team-mate was 0.705s and 0.246s respectively.<\/p>\n<p>Taking on soft tyres for the first time of the weekend in SQ3 \u2013 as per the regulations \u2013 Hadjar lapped in 1m32.048s, which was 0.892s slower than Verstappen\u2019s unmatched benchmark, before the Frenchman lost that time to a track-limit breach anyway.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don&#8217;t know,\u201d he said. \u201cIt&#8217;s just, what seemed like a good start of the day turned into a very poor performance. I&#8217;m just fighting with the car. I had engine issues on the last run. I was just struggling. I don&#8217;t know, it&#8217;s just weird.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Asked if he immediately felt like he didn\u2019t have pace on soft tyres, Hadjar replied: \u201cNo, I don&#8217;t know. The soft definitely feels like a huge step to the medium compound. It was a lot more grip, but it didn&#8217;t really matter anyway, all the other guys are on the soft as well, so\u2026<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don&#8217;t know. I just don&#8217;t feel like it&#8217;s drivable right now.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Hadjar will start the sprint from ninth on the grid, with Verstappen on pole position \u2013 and surprised to be.
