A new week is almost upon us and if you’re planning some time in front of the TV, then you’ve come to the right place. We’ve had a sneak preview of all the big shows coming to our screens over the next 7 days and we’re here to give you the lowdown on what’s actually worth watching.<\/p>\n

From a crime drama<\/a> that\u2019s better than Happy Valley to a star-studded period drama<\/a> and the return of Netflix\u2019s The Diplomat, there’s plenty of great stuff coming our way this week. So, remotes at the ready for the 7 best TV shows to watch this week on ITV, Netflix, the BBC and more.<\/p>\n

The Party\"from<\/p>\n

ROB YOUNGSON<\/p>\n

If you\u2019ve read Elizabeth Day\u2019s 2017 novel, you\u2019ll know we\u2019re in for a treat with ITV\u2019s latest drama. The page-to-screen adaptation revolves around the reunion of two former elite boarding school students, Martin Gilmour (Luke Evans) and Ben Fitzmaurice (Tom Cullen), at a lavish 40th birthday party in a country manor. Martin is now a journalist, while Ben is a politician and their reunion results in a confrontation that neither could have prepared themselves for. Joanna Scanlan, Douglas Hodge and Sarah Solemani also star. Arriving on ITV1 and ITVX at 9pm on Sunday 11th October.<\/p>\n

Time\"tx<\/p>\n

BBC<\/p>\n

Two years on from the last series, Jimmy McGovern\u2019s BAFTA-winning prison drama is finally returning. The three new episodes take us to a Young Offenders Institution, where disillusioned Prison Chaplain Marie-Louise (Siobhan Finneran) has lost her faith in the system. Things take a turn for the worse when tragedy strikes within the prison and Marie-Louise clashes with veteran officer Bailey, a man in the midst of his own crisis. If you thought Siobhan was good in Happy Valley, we\u2019d argue Time is even better. Arriving on BBC One and BBC iPlayer at 9pm on Sunday 11th October.<\/p>\n

Treasure Island \"treasure<\/p>\n

Paramount<\/p>\n

Robert Louis Stevenson\u2019s 1883 novel has been reimagined for a whole new generation thanks to our friends at Paramount+. The star-studded series follows Jim Hawkins (Tom Sweet) and his mother, Bess Hawkins (Hayley Atwell), after they come into possession of Captain Flint\u2019s legendary treasure map. Their search takes them aboard the Hispaniola, where they encounter the charming but terrifying pirate Long John Silver (David Oyelowo) and a crew pursuing the same treasure. A real highlight of the autumn schedules. Arriving on Paramount+ on Monday 12th October. <\/p>\n

The Diplomat \"the<\/p>\n

Netflix<\/p>\n

After series 3\u2019s jaw-dropping finale, The Diplomat is returning and there are plenty more surprises in store for US ambassador to the UK, Kate Wyler (Keri Russell), her husband Hal Wyler (Rufus Sewell) – and just about everyone around them. One catastrophic moment shatters the fragile peace Kate Wyler brokered between the US and UK, as well as the crumbling marriage she\u2019s trying to save. Meanwhile, President Grace Penn and VP Hal Wyler\u2019s conspiracy to steal Russia\u2019s most powerful weapon threatens to start a war. We can\u2019t wait. Series 4 is arriving on Netflix on Thursday 15th October.<\/p>\n

The Celebrity Traitors\"tx<\/p>\n

The second series of The Celebrity Traitors is in full swing and it\u2019s more addictive than ever. Poor Julie Hesmondhalgh is the latest Faithful to be banished and now, our players (or some of them, at least) are about to play a game of hide and seek. Romesh Ranganathan, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Ross Kemp and Rob Beckett will each be placed into a crypt in the forest while our Traitors attempt to hunt them down. It\u2019s all getting a little\u2026 creepy. Episode 5 airs on BBC One and BBC iPlayer at 8pm on Thursday 15th October. Episode 6 will air at the same time on Friday 16th October.<\/p>\n

The Quiet Hour\"riya<\/p>\n

The latest drama in Channel 5\u2019s popular Play for Today series is coming \u2013 and it\u2019s a powerful watch. Set over the course of a relentless night shift in an NHS hospital, Archie Panjabi plays Riya, an overworked nurse battling exhaustion and guilt, while Paul Kaye is Fred, a combative amputee. As Riya juggles a collapsing system and an understaffed ward, we get a taste of the quiet heroism that holds the health service together. Arriving on Channel 5 at 9pm on Friday 16th October.<\/p>\n

Dark Winds\"dark<\/p>\n
