Jake Paul has spent years finding unconventional ways to attract attention, but his latest appearance in a boxing gym has left some fans more concerned about an animal than his potential return to the boxing ring.

The 29-year-old appeared in a video shared by boxing social media account Happy Punch, showing him working around a heavy bag with a large snake wrapped around the chain above it.

Jake Paul and Jutta Leerdam unexpectedly grow their family with 15 new babies

The animal, believed to be a python, remained close to the bag as Paul circled cautiously, occasionally throwing punches while watching its movements.

An unidentified person could be heard giving instructions from off camera, telling Paul to “start jabbing around it” as he attempted to continue the exercise.

The footage lasted approximately 40 seconds, but quickly generated criticism from viewers who questioned the decision to involve a live animal in boxing training.

Putting snake under unnecessary stress

Rather than focusing on Paul’s technique, much of the reaction centered on whether the snake was being subjected to unnecessary distress.

“Bro, this is just animal abuse,” one social media user wrote, while another questioned the apparent purpose of the exercise.

“The f**k did the snake do to him? This is trashy man,” another viewer commented, reflecting the frustration expressed by several people responding to the footage.

Others accused Paul of using the animal primarily to generate attention, suggesting the unusual setup offered little practical benefit to his preparations.

Paul hasn’t provided a detailed public explanation of the session, leaving questions about whether the exercise was intended as legitimate training or simply entertainment.

Controversy follows Paul after Joshua knockout

The backlash comes as Paul considers returning to boxing following his defeat against former heavyweight world champion Anthony Joshua in December 2025.

Joshua knocked Paul out in the sixth round of their Miami contest, leaving the American with a broken jaw that subsequently required multiple surgeries.

That defeat reignited debate about Paul’s credentials, particularly after years of criticism concerning the age and competitive backgrounds of several previous opponents.

One viewer referenced the loss while responding to the snake footage, asking, “How is this going to help his glass jaw?”

Another sarcastically remarked, “So stunning and brave,” questioning whether the exercise demonstrated anything meaningful about Paul’s boxing abilities.

Paul’s next move remains unclear

Paul has suggested that a return to competition could happen in early 2027, although no opponent or official date has been confirmed.

He has also expressed interest in professional football and discussed potential future fights, including another possible venture into mixed martial arts.

Unusual training content is not entirely new territory for Paul, who previously shared footage involving his Golden Retriever, Thor, whom he jokingly described as a boxing coach.

The latest video, however, has generated a different response because it involves a snake positioned directly beside a moving heavy bag.

Whether intended as entertainment or preparation, the footage has shifted attention away from Paul’s comeback ambitions and toward questions about the treatment of animals during promotional boxing content.

Jake Paul has spent years finding unconventional ways to attract attention, but his latest appearance in a boxing…

[447
703,49,48,82
post-930496","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-boxing","tag-boxing","tag-ca","tag-canada","tag-sports
["GET
