\nThe Sooners set a program single game attendance record with 3,211 during the 4-0 win against East Texas A&M Thursday, Aug. 21.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\nThe Sooners are looking to start the season 4-0 for the first time since 2009 and for just the third time in the program’s 30 seasons.<\/p>\n
\nOklahoma entered the United Soccer Coaches Poll for the first time since 2017, earning the No. 22 slot as announced Tuesday, Aug. 19. OU also earned a slot in the Top Drawer Soccer poll, coming in at No. 25 this past Monday.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\nAfter the first week of the season, junior forward Naomi Clark<\/a> was second in the nation in goals (four) and fourth in points (eight), earning herself a spot on the Top Drawer Soccer Team of the Week.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\nFreshman back Ally Laccinole<\/a> logged all 90 minutes on the backline against OSU as well as 59 minutes in the opener against Creighton, earning SEC Freshman of the Week laurels.<\/p>\n
\nJunior transfer Naomi Clark<\/a> tallied a brace in her OU debut Thursday against Creighton, scoring in the 11th minute as well as the 57th. She is just the second Sooner in program history to notch a brace in their OU debut and the first since Jonette Coquat against Tulsa Sept. 1, 1998.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\nA total of 14 Sooners made their OU debut Thursday against Creighton. OU newcomers also combined for seven of OU’s eight goals, with the lone remaining goal coming from an own goal.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\nSenior Alexis Washington<\/a> returns having played in 61 games while making 60 starts across her OU career \u2026 Last week she was tabbed to the United Soccer Coaches Preseason Midfielders to Watch List \u2026 with 19 assists, Washington needs one more to set the OU career record for assists \u2026 she posted three goals and four assists last season, tied with incoming sophomore Juliette Rayo<\/a> for the second most goals among OU returners.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\nSeniors Hadley Murrell<\/a> and Cassie Clifton<\/a>, both out of Prosper, Texas, return a wealth of experience for the Sooners. Murrell started all 18 games last season and is the Sooners’ leading scorer among all returners. Clifton logged the most minutes (1,574) of any Sooner player in 2024 outside of keeper Caroline Duffy<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\nOU plays 11 home matches this season, its most in a season since the 2009 campaign. Oklahoma starts the year with five home contests in the month of August, with OU playing six non-conference matches at John Crain Field.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\nA trio of Sooners earned summer accolades in their respective leagues. Caroline Duffy<\/a> was selected to the USLW All-League First Team with Annapolis Blues FC, while Riley Brown<\/a> and Callie Sullivan<\/a> earned defensive player of the year and goalkeeper of the year respectively in their conferences within the WPSL.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\nThe Sooners’ roster features eight new transfers having joined after the 2024 season. The group includes:
