Vincent Kompany wisely reset the Bayern standard at halftime, making three substitutions at the break. The entire squad played with the proper effort and precision to score three unanswered goals and go home with three points. Unfortunately, fate had other plans.Michael Olise’s temper finally got the better of him. Viking’s left backs poked and prodded him all game and he finally snapped. Now he will miss next week’s huge clash with Arsenal. After the red card, Vincent Kompany elected to play defensively for the final 15 minutes. The strategy failed (again).I was shocked how classless Viking played all night. Viking’s players were constantly taking cheap shots and taunting Bayern players, including the captain Zlatko Tripić.

Thanks for hanging out! Bayern will head back to the Bundesliga this weekend with a home match against RB Leipzig.

Constant movement and passing allowed the ball to pass through narrow channels into dangerous areas. But Viking was ruthlessly efficient with both of their chances.Harry Kane has not been very involved and that needs to change. Whether he’s dropping into the midfield, playing quick passes with the wingers, or attacking the goal on crosses, Kane needs more touches.Lennart Karl has been slow to react in various situations. Vincent Kompany needs to replace him with Alphonso Davies, then shift Nathaniel Brown to CAM and Michael Olise back to the right wing.

HT: Bayern down 2-0 at the break.

45’: One minute of stoppage time.

38’: Goal, Viking. Bayern returns to Champions League against another Norwegian side, Viking.

Viking uses a dual manager system, splitting head coaching duties between Bjarte Lunde Aarsheim and Morten Jensen. The unique setup led Viking to their first Norwegian title in 34 years. In their first Champions League match since 1992, Viking fell to Stuttgart 3-1.

SBN App: Engage with match threads on Bavarian Football Works from your phone with the new SB Nation app. Commenting and interacting with your communities is easier than ever before with the Game Chat feature.
