{"id":932244,"date":"2026-10-14T03:38:08","date_gmt":"2026-10-14T03:38:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/932244\/"},"modified":"2026-10-14T03:38:08","modified_gmt":"2026-10-14T03:38:08","slug":"keith-thurman-sums-up-jaron-ennis-chances-of-beating-sebastian-fundora","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/932244\/","title":{"rendered":"Keith Thurman sums up Jaron Ennis&#8217; chances of beating Sebastian Fundora"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Jaron \u2018Boots\u2019 Ennis is hoping to become the undisputed super-welterweight world champion within the next 12 months, but has to dethrone Josh Kelly and Sebastian Fundora to do so.<\/p>\n<p>Former unified welterweight world champion and Fundora opponent, Keith Thurman, has advised the Philadelphian on how to overcome \u2018The Towering Inferno\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>Standing at an enormous 197cm, Fundora was the tallest world champion in the sport \u2013 despite boxing at 154lbs \u2013 up until Filip Hrgovic\u2019s recent IBF heavyweight world title win. Since a 2023 loss to Brian Mendoza, the unorthodox WBC titleholder has put together a string of four victories and may well be the final obstacle for Ennis to secure all four belts.<\/p>\n<p>First, <a href=\"https:\/\/boxingnewsonline.net\/news\/terms-agreed-for-jaron-ennis-next-fight\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">\u2018Boots\u2019 is set to take on IBF world champion, Josh Kelly<\/a>, with that bout expected to go ahead in January. Victory for either man puts them in line for a historic clash for the undisputed throne against Fundora.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking with <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/GQhfokpzMDg?si=eABUYwSUMdBey-LM\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">FightHype<\/a>, Thurman \u2013 who lost to Fundora via sixth-round TKO back in March \u2013 informed Ennis that his best chance of overcoming the Floridian is by looking for the knockout rather than trying to outbox the imposing champion.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere is no evidence that Boots is going to win, right? There is no evidence.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSebastian Fundora is an obstacle course. Styles make fights, this is boxing. For anybody who is going to really beat Fundora, it is best to have that one-punch ability.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEven when Fundora lost, he didn\u2019t lose by losing any rounds.
