Fighting between Saudi Arabia and Iran-backed Houthis continued to escalate, following a deadly attack on Riyadh’s main airport by Tehran-backed Houthis in Yemen.<\/p>\n
According to Al Jazeera, Houthi energy terminals and fuel reserves in Yemen were struck by a Saudi-led coalition, though a spokesperson said that precautions were taken to avoid “collateral damage on civilians.” <\/p>\n
Meanwhile, tensions also continued to simmer between the U.S. and Iran. <\/p>\n
U.S. Central Command rejected claims by the commander of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy that the Strait of Hormuz is under Iran’s control and that any approaching U.S. Navy warships would be “sunk.”<\/p>\n
