Two formulations, four branded ingredients<\/p>\n
As detailed in the release, RISE AM is a caffeine-free formulation intended to support daytime energy and cognitive performance. It contains enfinity, TSI Group\u2019s branded paraxanthine ingredient, and sageXtra, a non-stimulant cognitive health ingredient from Stratum Nutrition derived from Salvia officinalis.<\/p>\n
Paraxanthine is the primary metabolite of caffeine in the human body.<\/p>\n
RESTORE PM is a melatonin-free formulation targeting nighttime wellness and sleep. It combines PeptiSleep, an artificial intelligence (AI)-discovered peptide ingredient from Nuritas derived from brown rice, with AstaReal\u2019s astaxanthin, sourced from the microalgae Haematococcus pluvialis.<\/p>\n
The companies described the ingredients as complementary but did not provide dosages or data on the effects of the combined formulations.<\/p>\n
Granato, who is also president of Nutrachievement Inc., told NutraIngredients that the project began with discussions with TSI Group before other suppliers were selected based on their clinically studied ingredients and the intended health benefits.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis was an example of how we all work best when we bring different perspectives to the table,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
Blake Haynes, public relations and communications manager at Stratum Nutrition, said the project was about more than combining ingredients.<\/p>\n

Delivery format and formulation<\/p>\n
TSI Group\u2019s FZZR technology allows the contents of a sachet to be consumed directly on the tongue, chewed or mixed with water.<\/p>\n
According to TSI, the format can accommodate multiple active ingredients in a single serving, offering an alternative to tablets and capsules.<\/p>\n
The technology also allows ingredients targeting different health functions to be combined in one portable product.<\/p>\n
Granato said the work could have applications beyond the two prototypes.<\/p>\n
\u201cPartnerships between ingredient suppliers and CMOs can result in prototypes that spark even more new ideas among the entrepreneurs, formulators and marketers in the industry,\u201d she told NI, referring to contract manufacturing organizations.<\/p>\n
WIN\u2019s role in the collaboration<\/p>\n
All four companies sponsor WIN, a nonprofit organization that supports women in the nutraceutical industry through education, mentorship and networking.<\/p>\n
Granato said the relationships between participating companies were an important part of the project.<\/p>\n
