(GMM) Ralf Schumacher has continued his criticism of Lando Norris (pictured), saying the McLaren driver must prove on track that he really belongs at Max Verstappen\u2019s level.<\/p>\n

The McLaren driver has become noticeably more assertive since winning the world championship, including comments suggesting he should be paid like Formula 1\u2019s biggest stars and that he sees himself at the same level as Verstappen.<\/p>\n

Editor\u2019s Note: With their latest contract extensions, Norris is estimated to make $40 million per year and Verstappen $100 million per year.<\/p>\n

Schumacher told Sky Deutschland<\/a> that those claims inevitably raise the standard Norris is judged against.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe comes up with the claim that he should earn as much as Max Verstappen, because he\u2019s as good as Max Verstappen,\u201d said the former F1 driver.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf he\u2019s as good as Max Verstappen, then he also has to get the most out of the car.\u201d<\/p>\n

Schumacher believes Norris has made too many mistakes recently, including the Singapore Sprint collision with Oscar Piastri and another failed attack in the Grand Prix.<\/p>\n

\u201cThen you have to take overtaking moves that are correct,\u201d said the German.<\/p>\n

He also again criticized Norris\u2019 sharp treatment of reporters after the Sprint.<\/p>\n

\u201cI like it when Lando is a bit cheeky, but he went too far,\u201d said Schumacher.<\/p>\n

\u201cSometimes you just have to accept that and be able to say live \u2018Yeah, ok, that was my fault.’\u201d<\/p>\n
