Jon Gosselin fiercely defended his son Collin after the 22-year-old\u2019s new memoir made shocking allegations against his mother, Kate Gosselin.<\/p>\n
Jon said he was proud of Collin\u2019s bombshell book, \u201cIn the Shadow of Eight: Surviving the Reality of My Childhood,\u201d<\/a> and shut down any allegation that he\u2019s mentally ill \u2014 which Kate claimed in a TikTok comment <\/a>Tuesday.<\/p>\n \u201cFirst and foremost, I couldn\u2019t be more proud of my son\u2019s heartbreaking memoir and his mission to help other victims of abuse,\u201d Jon told Us Weekly<\/a> in a statement Thursday.<\/p>\n \u201cAlso, let me be very clear: If you continue to falsely label my son Collin as \u2018mentally ill,\u2019 you will be held accountable,\u201d he continued. \u201cAs you know, Collin has been evaluated by multiple independent psychiatrists, and that narrative is proven categorically untrue.\u201d<\/p>\n Jon Gosselin (seen here in March 2024) said he was proud of his son Collin after the 22-year-old released his memoir, \u201cIn the Shadow of Eight: Surviving My Reality of My Childhood,\u201d Tuesday. Landon Hale\/for Sundance Film Festival \/ Shutterstock<\/p>\n The former reality star, 49, noted that repeating false claims about Collin\u2019s mental health is \u201cdamaging to his reputation, his credibility and his future.\u201d<\/p>\n He concluded, \u201cConsider this fair warning: The days of using mental health to discredit and silence my son are over.\u201d<\/p>\n In Collin\u2019s memoir, released Tuesday, he describes his mom\u2019s alleged wrongdoings <\/a>throughout his childhood and her decision to put him in a mental institution<\/a> in 2016.
