Joe Manganiello shared a glimpse of his battle with a mystery illness<\/a> by sharing heartbreaking photos of himself in the hospital.<\/p>\n

\u201cTRIGGER WARNING. In the days following the amputation of my large intestine, my weight began to plummet,\u201d he captioned the carousel of images on Instagram<\/a> Thursday. <\/p>\n

\u201cI would ultimately lose a total of 60 lbs during the two weeks following the surgery,\u201d the \u201cMagic Mike\u201d star added.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf you zoom in, you can see the top of my first ostomy bag creeping up over the sheets,\u201d he claimed, referring to the photo of him sitting shirtless in a hospital chair.<\/p>\n

The \u201cSpider-Man\u201d star (seen above with a rash on his face) said he lost 60 pounds after he had to have his large intestine amputated. Instagram\/@joemanganiello<\/p>\n

Manganiello, 49, then described the second photo, which shows a close-up of his \u201cabdomen after the reconnection\/take down surgery or anastomosis, in which my ostomy bag was removed and what was left of my digestive tract was reconnected.\u201d<\/p>\n

The \u201cSpider-Man\u201d actor said the third snap showed the \u201cmultitude of skin conditions I was plagued with during the seven years I was sick.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cMy skin, an immune organ, was stricken with just about every condition known to man, usually in combination,\u201d he wrote of the images, which showed red rashes all over his face.<\/p>\n

Manganiello first revealed he was battling a seven-year illness in the synopsis of his new memoir, \u201cBloodlines,\u201d<\/a> over the summer.<\/p>\n

Manganiello (seen above on SiriusXM in October) said he also had a \u201cmultitude of skin conditions I was plagued with during the seven years I was sick.\u201d SiriusXM<\/p>\n

The \u201cTrue Blood\u201d alum said doctors could not explain the sickness that attacked his thyroid, digestive system, skin, lungs and eyes<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Instead, Manganiello said he used shamans, pagan rituals, ancient myths, long-lost family records and the rebirth of his own spirituality to try to aid his illness.<\/p>\n

In his book, the actor revealed a shaman suggested that one of his then-wife Sof\u00efa Vergara\u2019s exes put a \u201cvoodoo curse\u201d on him<\/a> that caused the illness.<\/p>\n

\u201c\u2018Someone from your past is still in love with you. He put a voodoo curse on your husband. He did it in New Orleans,\u201d he recalled the shaman telling him and the \u201cGriselda\u201d actress.<\/p>\n

Manganiello and the \u201cAmerica\u2019s Got Talent\u201d judge (both seen above at the 2015 Screen Actors Guild Awards) split in 2023 after seven years of marriage. WireImage<\/p>\n

Manganiello said he believed the person of interest was Vergara\u2019s ex Nick Loeb, who previously lived in New Orleans.<\/p>\n

In an exclusive statement to Page Six, Loeb, 51, said: \u201cI pray they find Jesus \u2014 not another shaman.\u201d<\/p>\n

Manganiello also claimed Vergara, 54, ridiculed him when he was dealing with his illness<\/a>. He also claimed that she refused to hug him when he was severely sick.<\/p>\n

The author and the \u201cAmerica\u2019s Got Talent\u201d judge were married for seven years<\/a> before they split in 2023<\/a>. <\/p>\n
