This three-bedroom house has 2,803 square feet of living space on a 55- by 123-foot corner lot backing onto a major intersection in Calgary\u2019s west end. Sensing buyers might see the hum of traffic as a downside, agent Joel Gwillim set an alluring price of $1,124,900 this summer. Tours were held daily, with 15 visitors over roughly one week. <\/p>\n

\u201cYou can hear some road noise, but we had that in consideration when we were doing the price strategy,\u201d said Mr. Gwillim. <\/p>\n

\u201cPeople came through and proved they were looking for a large home with multi-purpose areas.\u201d <\/p>\n

One buyer began purchase talks even as two rival bidders entered the fray. The best offer added $5,100 to the asking price. <\/p>\n

\u201cWe weren\u2019t expecting multiple offers for this one,\u201d Mr. Gwillim said. <\/p>\n

\u201cWe had very happy sellers who didn\u2019t have to spend a long time on the market. <\/p>\n
