Patsy Kensit has opened up about reprising her role as the villainous Sadie King<\/a> in Emmerdale, 20 years after the manipulative character last appeared on screen, saying: “I\u2019m the complete opposite.”<\/p>\n

Sadie recently joined forces with Joe Tate to destroy Caleb and Ruby\u2019s marriage, attempting to seduce Caleb as part of their plan.<\/p>\n

Asked about the impact Sadie might have on the village during an appearance on today’s The One Show <\/a>with Roman Kemp and JB Gill, Kensit replied: “Well, she’s come back and says she’s changed, but has she?”<\/p>\n

She continued: “So we’re, kind of, finding stuff out about her and she’s causing trouble and, you know, after money and it’s just chaos, basically.”<\/p>\n

Opening up about being back, Kensit said it was “hard work”, adding: “But I’m loving it. The show’s great and it’s been lovely to go back. Everyone’s been so welcoming.”<\/p>\n

Reconfirming that her time on the soap will be short-lived, the soap star said: “They’re only having me there for six months, and I’ve loved every minute. It’s been great.”<\/p>\n

Kensit said she was scared ahead of her first day on set but received support from fellow cast members. She said: “I was so scared, and a couple of the actors that were on the show got in touch with me before when they heard.”<\/p>\n

Despite her nerves, Kensit said she felt like she “never left” and received “a big warm welcome”. <\/p>\n

On how different she is from Sadie, the actor said she was “pathologically polite”, so she lives “vicariously through this woman”.<\/p>\n

“The way she speaks to people and the stuff that she does, I would never do that in my life,” Kensit said.<\/p>\n

“It’s really fun to play someone like that,” she explained, adding: “It’s liberating, but it’s not me at all. I’m the complete opposite.”<\/p>\n

Speaking to Inside Soap<\/a> about Sadie’s latest storyline, Emmerdale producer Sophie Roper said<\/a>: “Joe alone is already enough of a threat, but when you put him with Sadie, the Miligans have really got a duo there who’ll set fireworks off into their life and marriage! That story is going to evolve in the coming weeks and months\u2026”<\/p>\n
