Patch.com<\/a>, Shloimie and Roz Lieberman, who reside in Meiers Corners, decided to sell the diner so they could retire and enjoy time with their grandchildren. The couple also has tired of their commute: They told Patch they typically leave Staten Island around 6 a.m. and it takes them approximately two hours to travel to Borough Park.<\/p>\n\u201cI wouldn\u2019t want them to have this kind of life,\u201d Lieberman said in an interview with the publication after noting that his daughters have pursued careers outside the restaurant.<\/p>\n
The diner, located at 4801 16th Ave., has been operated by the Lieberman family since 1968, and follows meticulous kosher practices.<\/p>\n
Eggs are set in trays over ice until a customer orders an omelet or an egg sandwich. Then a cook prepares each order in an individual pan in front of the customer, following the method Lieberman\u2019s mother, Tillie, used decades ago.<\/p>\n

Every dairy product, including milk, cheese and butter, is certified to a standard known as Cholov Yisroel, which some observant Jewish customers specifically seek. <\/p>\n
Lieberman told Patch he has no plans to dictate whether the restaurant survives under new ownership and he cannot guarantee that the next operator will maintain the same kosher standards, recipes or cooking methods.<\/p>\n
