WINNIPEG, Man. – The Carolina Hurricanes, winners of six in a row, will have two (sort of) new faces in their lineup on Saturday when they begin their State Fair road trip against the Winnipeg Jets.

Bradly Nadeau and Felix Unger Sorum, both recalled from Chicago (AHL) this week following injuries to Taylor Hall (upper-body) and Jordan Staal (calf tear), are expected to play their 16th and second NHL games, respectively.

Nadeau skated in Hall’s spot at Friday’s practice, while Unger Sorum operated to the right of Eric Robinson and Jesperi Kotkaniemi.

“We know what they’re capable of doing. [They should] play their game, not do too much, and let the game come to them,” Rod Brind’Amour told the media pre-game. “Then, when their skills have the opportunity to make those plays that they can make, make them.”

Behind them, Pyotr Kochetkov was in the net typically occupied by the next day’s starting goalie yesterday. A flawless 4-0 on the season, he became just the fourth goalie in team history (since relocation) to win his first four starts of a season, joining Frederik Andersen (8 GP in 2021-22), James Reimer (4 GP in 2020-21), and Petr Mrazek (4 GP in 2019-20).

See if the Canes can pick up their seventh win in a row at 3:30 p.m. ET on Hurricanes Hockey Network.
