\n\tHarry Styles<\/a> paid tribute last night to his late One Direction bandmate Liam Payne<\/a> by performing an unreleased acoustic song titled \u201cWhat Is Enough<\/a>\u201d from the stage of Madison Square Garden<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe sold-out performance came on the two-year anniversary of Payne\u2019s death at 31 from a fall from a balcony at the CasaSur Palermo Hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina.<\/p>\n

\n\tStyles is currently performing a residency (through October 31) at MSG as part of his Together, Together tour. On Friday night, according to various reports, he told the packed house, \u201cI feel incredibly lucky to get to play these shows here in New York, and this building means a lot to me\u2026And two years ago today, I lost one of those friends\u2026I\u2019m sure a lot of you have been through similar things. I hope you haven\u2019t. But really, it\u2019s just about looking after each other.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe singer continued, \u201cThere are so many people who have touched my life in such special ways that I wouldn\u2019t be here without. I\u2019m gonna play you a song I wrote for my friend about two years ago, if that\u2019s all right.\u201d After identifying the song as \u201cWhat Is Enough,\u201d Styles, accompanying himself with a guitar, launched into the gently melodic tune with lyrics that included, \u201cI\u2019m not wise enough\/But I wrote you a letter just to burn it up\/And watch it rise like you\u2019re in the sky.\u201d<\/p>\n
