\n\tHarry Styles<\/a> is remembering his late friend and former One Direction bandmate Liam Payne<\/a> on the second anniversary of his death<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n\tDuring his Friday night show at Madison Square Garden in New York as part of his Together, Together residency, the Grammy winner performed an unreleased acoustic song titled \u201cWhat Is Enough,\u201d which he said he wrote about two years ago.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI feel incredibly lucky to get to play these shows here in New York, and this building means a lot to me,\u201d Styles said, per footage shared by concertgoers<\/a>. \u201cThere are so many people in my life, friends and people that I\u2019ve worked with, that I wouldn\u2019t have been able to do this without. Two years ago today, I lost one of those friends \u2026 I\u2019m sure a lot of you have been through similar things. I hope you haven\u2019t. But really, it\u2019s just about looking after each other.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tPayne died on Oct. 16, 2024, after falling from a hotel balcony in Argentina. He was 31.<\/p>\n

\n\tStyles then introduced the unreleased song, dedicating it to his late friend.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThere are so many people who have touched my life in such special ways that I wouldn\u2019t be here without,\u201d the Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally singer continued. \u201cI\u2019m gonna play you a song I wrote for my friend about two years ago, if that\u2019s all right.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe song\u2019s lyrics appear to reflect on loss and remembrance. In part, they read: \u201cAmong the stars above, the friend in all those satellites. \u2026 I\u2019m not wise enough, but I wrote you a letter just to burn it up, and watch it rise like you\u2019re in the sky.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tStyles also seemingly referenced Payne\u2019s funeral in another lyric: \u201cI could tell you what it\u2019s like to bury friends on a Wednesday night, gathered in the garden \u2019round a fire.\u201d<\/p>\n
