The US<\/a> has resumed sharing military and security intelligence with Ukraine after suspending data exchanges for a \u201csome period of time,\u201d President Volodymyr Zelensky<\/a> announced on Sunday, Oct. 18.<\/p>\n

Speaking during an interview on NBC\u2019s \u201cMeet the Press,\u201d as reported by Bloomberg<\/a>, the president confirmed that intelligence pipelines had been restored following operational friction with Washington<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Warnings over energy interdiction and early-warning gaps <\/p>\n

The temporary suspension of intelligence flows materialized amid sharp disagreements between Washington and Kyiv over battlefield targeting rules and prospective ceasefire mechanisms.<\/p>\n

On Oct. 15, The Washington Post reported that US intelligence officials warned Ukraine that Washington would immediately halt intelligence sharing if Ukrainian forces continued long-range strikes against Russian oil refineries<\/a> and petrochemical facilities.<\/p>\n

The warning was formally conveyed to Ukraine\u2019s embassy in Washington amid disputes surrounding an \u201cenergy ceasefire\u201d unilaterally declared by US President Donald Trump<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Trump administration had previously cautioned that it could suspend intelligence cooperation<\/a> and block European purchases of American weapons earmarked for Ukraine if Kyiv refused to halt deep interdiction strikes on Russian<\/a> energy infrastructure.<\/p>\n
