A pedestrian suffered serious, life-altering injuries after being struck by a vehicle in a Brampton commercial parking lot, Peel Regional Police told INSAUGA Canada.<\/p>\n

Police said the collision happened on Saturday, Oct. 17, at approximately 7:44 p.m. in the area of Orenda Road and Rutherford Road.<\/p>\n

The driver did not remain at the scene, according to police. <\/p>\n

The vehicle is believed to be an SUV with damage to its front end.<\/p>\n

The adult male pedestrian was transported to a local hospital with serious, life-altering injuries.<\/p>\n

Peel Regional Police\u2019s Major Collision Bureau has taken over the investigation. <\/p>\n

The MCB is a specialized investigative unit that handles serious, life-altering, or fatal motor vehicle collisions across Mississauga and Brampton.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Police said the investigation remains ongoing and no further details are available at this time.<\/p>\n

Another serious car-related incident was reported east of Brampton this weekend.<\/p>\n

Recently, Durham Regional Police announced that a 45-year-old man died following a two-vehicle collision in Uxbridge, a municipality in the Durham region.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Police said the collision happened on Friday, Oct. 16, at approximately 4:43 p.m. at the intersection of Sandford Road and Uxbridge Concession Road 3. According to police, a 53-year-old man was driving a silver 2001 Acura sedan southbound on Uxbridge Concession Road 3 and approaching the stop sign at Sandford Road when it collided with a 2024 Ford F-150 travelling eastbound on Sandford Road. <\/p>\n

The passenger in the Acura was pronounced dead at the scene and the driver was taken to a Toronto-area trauma centre with serious injuries, while the Ford\u2019s driver was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries, according to police.<\/p>\n
