Brampton residents who have been driving to Mississauga for a taste of Amritsari kulcha will soon have a much shorter trip.<\/p>\n

Mughal Mahal, a restaurant known for its Punjabi food, is opening a new location in Brampton, the restaurant announced on social media.<\/p>\n

\u201cSame flavours. New location. Zero compromises,\u201d the restaurant said in its announcement, adding that \u201cthe ribbon is up and the tandoor is hot.\u201d<\/p>\n

No opening date has been announced, but the restaurant says the location is coming soon.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s on the menu<\/p>\n

The restaurant specializes in Amritsari kulcha, a stuffed, buttery flatbread from the city of Amritsar in Punjab that\u2019s baked in a tandoor and usually served with chole (spiced chickpeas).<\/p>\n

According to the restaurant, the Brampton location will serve the same menu as the original, including:<\/p>\n

Kulchas baked fresh in the tandoor
\nChole
\nThalis, traditional platters that let diners sample several dishes in one meal<\/p>\n

More than 30 years in business<\/p>\n

According to its website, Mughal Mahal has been serving Indian food since 1990.<\/p>\n

The restaurant says its commitment to \u201creal Indian food has remained unwavering\u201d over that time, and that it aims to bring \u201cthe true flavours of India to every dish.\u201d<\/p>\n

The restaurant says it uses \u201cpremium Himalayan herbs and over 30 exotic spices daily\u201d in its curries.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf you\u2019ve been driving to Mississauga for it, your drive just got shorter,\u201d the restaurant told fans.<\/p>\n

The opening is the latest addition to Brampton\u2019s growing South Asian food scene, where Punjabi restaurants remain some of the city\u2019s most popular spots.<\/p>\n
