The season had already ended for most of his competitors, but the 2026 cycling year has also come to a close for Remco Evenepoel<\/a>. The Belgian rider from Red Bull-BORA-hansgrohe <\/a>wrapped up his season on Sunday at the French time trial race Chrono des Nations<\/a>, where he even managed to overtake second-place finisher Jay Vine<\/a>. And my worst feeling came from the UAE Tour. I really wasn\u2019t good there,\u201d said Evenepoel.<\/p>\n

Evenepoel still has some busy weeks ahead of him<\/p>\n

The Belgian cyclist still has a few commitments coming up. On Wednesday, he\u2019s scheduled to visit the Red Bull Athlete Performance Centre in Salzburg, followed by a trip to the U.S. \u201cFrom Austria, I\u2019ll then travel on to Specialized headquarters in Morgan Hill, California,\u201d Evenepoel said.<\/p>\n

“I’ll be wrapping up a few media obligations with my bike sponsor and heading back into the wind tunnel for another nine days, in search of additional marginal gains,” he explains. After the Chrono des Nations, Evenepoel already had nothing but praise for his equipment. <\/a><\/p>\n

Evenepoel already has plans for 2027<\/p>\n

He also already has an idea of what part of his 2027 season should look like. \u201cOne thing is certain: I won\u2019t be entering competition as early as I did this year. As a newcomer to the team, that was to be expected. I wanted to prove myself, integrate into the team as well as possible, and win as quickly as possible. Next year will be different.\u201d<\/p>\n

Evenepoel won at the Chrono des nations\u00a0<\/p>\n

Last year, he started as early as January, but in 2027, it\u2019ll take a little while longer. \u201cWhat we\u2019ve also realised and learned is that I need very thorough preparation periods for my major goals. So we\u2019re going to plan those even more specifically. And we\u2019ll avoid rushing from race to race, as happened a few times in 2026.\u201d<\/p>\n

On December 11, Red Bull-BORA-hansgrohe <\/a>will announce its plans for 2027 in Mallorca.
