“Obviously you can never complain when you make it to the finals, but I think we’ve got such a different crew this year,” said Jolley, whose team only returns a handful of starters from last year.

Lone Peak needed less than 30 seconds to get things rolling in the semis.

It took the opening kickoff, worked it up the left side, with Sami Schiffman whipping a cross into the box that Macie Leavitt buried for the early 1-0 lead.

A dream start indeed.

“You can never complain when you can get a goal within the first minute, but they executed what we’ve been working on for probably the last week in particular. It was good for them to actually take what we did in practice and execute it, and it led to some goals,” Jolley said.

“It changes everything. I think it gives everyone a chance to take a breath, relax just a little bit, get the nerves out after that first one and feel a little more comfortable to kind of settle the ball and play our game.”

By halftime, Lone Peak had doubled its lead as Nya Piercy headed in a corner kick from Katherine Mason.

Up 2-0 at the break, Jolley quickly reminded her players what happened when they were down two goals in their first round game with Skyridge last week.

Lone Peak’s intensity never dropped in the second half, with Kami McMurtrey tacking on a second goal to seal the 3-0 victory.

Davis 3, Farmington 2

Davis lost four regular season games in 2026 — twice to Syracuse and twice to Farmington.

After avenging those Syracuse losses last week in a resounding 4-0 quarterfinal win, the Darts earned another slice of redemption in the 6A semifinals on Monday.

Kate Willard scored a pair of first half goals, and then Samantha Maudsley buried a classy winner on an assist from Avery Johnson in the 62nd minute as Davis outlasted Farmington 3-2 in a back-and-forth rivalry showdown at Zions Bank Stadium.

No. 2 seed Davis now advances to Friday’s 6A state championship at 10 a.m. against top seed Lone Peak.

Davis coach Dillon Richens believes grit is what’s helped his team get over the hump the past two games against tough region foes, and what will give his team a shot in the final.

“Just proud of the girls,” Richens said. “They’re super talented technically, tactically, but it’s been the heart moments that you say, ‘Can we do it?’ And so they played the last 15 minutes just full heart … everything they had,” said Richens.

“So that’s the kind of stuff that grit gives you a chance in these kind of games and it’ll give us a chance on Friday, and I think if they show up and play the way they have been the last several games, they’re going to be right there to start.”

Farmington beat Davis 3-2 and 4-3 in the regular season, and even in the semis Richens said the Phoenix attack gave his team problems again.

The difference was at the other end where the Darts finished their chances.

<img decoding="async" data-chromatic="ignore" alt="" style="aspect-ratio:1.70;background-color:#F3F1F0;cursor:pointer" class="c-image" loading="lazy" She uses her body phenomenally well, she’s technically super strong, she’s smart. She’s on, and it’s hard to defend her. So, you hope that the girls can take their moments, and Kate did. I think she only had a few shots today, and the ones she had, she absolutely buried.”

By halftime, however, the game was level again as Addy Webb equalized for Farmington on a quality tally near the penalty area.

The game was unfolding somewhat how Richens expected, and was hoping for.

“Every Davis-Farmington game’s always fun,” Richens said. “I mean, they do everything together. They’re friends, they’re probably family half the time.

“It’s a good, close rivalry, and I’ve actually really been pleased with Farmington and how, on both sides, boys and girls, it’s been a very good rivalry.”

Davis’ breakthrough ultimately came in the 62nd minute on a great bit of individual skill from Johnson to Maudsley. Johnson clipped a cross into the box to Maudsley who’d got in behind the defense, and then Maudsley took the shot first time as the ball hit the turf, slipping it past the keeper for the 3-2 lead and ultimately the win.

Here’s a recap of Monday’s 6A girls soccer semifinals held at Zions Bank Stadium in Herriman, with No.…

[440
321937,49,48,234958,234957,292707,218182,3166,561,82
post-939530","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-soccer","tag-american-fork-utah-high-school-sports","tag-ca","tag-canada","tag-davis-utah-high-school-sports","tag-farmington-utah-high-school-sports","tag-girls-soccer-high-school","tag-lone-peak-utah-high-school-sports","tag-news-feed-local","tag-soccer","tag-sports
["GET
