Two Mississauga men are facing drug trafficking charges after border officers seized 127 kilograms of cocaine from a commercial truck entering Canada at Windsor’s Ambassador Bridge.<\/p>\n
The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) says the drugs were discovered Sept. 11, after a commercial truck arriving from the United States was referred for a secondary inspection.<\/p>\n
In a Monday news release, the CBSA says border officers used a detector dog to help locate the cocaine inside the truck’s trailer.<\/p>\n
The CBSA arrested two men, 61 and 41, both of Mississauga.<\/p>\n
According to the CBSA, the men and seized drugs were turned over to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP).<\/p>\n
Both men have been charged with importing cocaine and possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, the CBSA says, adding that the case is currently before the Ontario Court of Justice in Windsor.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The seizure is part of a much larger quantity of cocaine intercepted at border crossings across southern Ontario this year.<\/p>\n
