MS NOW\u2019s Joe Scarborough blasted President Donald Trump<\/a> for making false and misleading claims about Kansas Democratic Senate nominee Adam Hamilton<\/a> at a rally for Republican Sen. Roger Marshall<\/a> on Monday, asking how \u201cstupid\u201d the president thinks his supporters are.<\/p>\n

Trump attacked Hamilton, the senior pastor of the Church of the Resurrection, the nation\u2019s largest United Methodist congregation. He said Hamilton supports \u201cflooding Kansas with unvetted refugees,\u201d said the pastor \u201copenly mocks Jesus\u201d and accused him of using church money to fund \u201canti-religious transgender activities.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cEverything you said there was a lie,\u201d Scarborough said Tuesday on \u201cMorning Joe,\u201d <\/a>after playing a clip of Trump\u2019s remarks. A fact check by The Kansas City Star<\/a> found that Hamilton does not support open borders and has said \u201cdangerous criminals don\u2019t belong here.\u201d Hamilton also told ABC News<\/a> earlier this month that he believes there are two genders while criticizing Trump for turning transgender people into a political target: \u201cThe president has taken a group of people that represent a very tiny minority of people who are bullied and picked on and harassed, and he\u2019s tried to make them a campaign issue.\u201d<\/p>\n

Scarborough called it \u201cdeeply offensive\u201d for Trump to attack \u201cthe pastor of the largest Methodist church in America, who preaches the gospel of Jesus Christ.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIf you listen to his sermons, that\u2019s what he does, which is the antithesis of what Donald Trump does every day when he lies about people, when he\u2019s angry, when he attacks other people \u2014 not for political differences, but just attacks them personally and spreads lies,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
