{"id":940570,"date":"2026-10-20T22:38:11","date_gmt":"2026-10-20T22:38:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/940570\/"},"modified":"2026-10-20T22:38:11","modified_gmt":"2026-10-20T22:38:11","slug":"max-verstappen-backs-isack-hadjar-to-take-over-red-bull-f1-role","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/940570\/","title":{"rendered":"Max Verstappen backs Isack Hadjar to take over Red Bull F1 role"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Four-time Formula 1 champion <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motorsport.com\/driver\/max-verstappen\/17529\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Max Verstappen<\/a> has backed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motorsport.com\/driver\/isack-hadjar\/827922\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Isack Hadjar<\/a> to eventually succeed him at Red Bull.<\/p>\n<p>Hadjar joined Red Bull alongside Verstappen at the start of 2026 after impressing in his rookie season with sister outfit <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motorsport.com\/team\/racing-bulls-12\/12\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Racing Bulls<\/a>. While the Milton Keynes outfit has struggled for some time to find a team-mate for the Dutchman who could extract the same level of performance from the car, Hadjar has impressed so far.<\/p>\n<p>With six rounds remaining in the 2026 season, Verstappen sits fourth in the drivers&#8217; championship with 221 points, while Hadjar is eighth with 97 points, having\u00a0missed three race weekends due to a wrist injury.<\/p>\n<p>While speaking to Canal+, Verstappen discussed his 22-year-old team-mate.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Isack, he\u2019s still a very young guy.\u00a0He\u2019s been a part of the Red Bull\u00a0programme for a while now,&#8221; Verstappen said. &#8220;Even when he was still not racing in Formula 1, he\u2019s been around to some of the races, listening in and following.<\/p>\n<p>   <img decoding=\"async\" draggable=\"false\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/1792535891_516_max-verstappen-red-bull-racing.jpg\" alt=\"Max Verstappen, Red Bull Racing, Isack Hadjar, Red Bull Racing\" width=\"1200\" height=\"800\" loading=\"lazy\"\/> <\/p>\n<p class=\"title\">Max Verstappen, Red Bull Racing, Isack Hadjar, Red Bull Racing<\/p>\n<p class=\"photographer\">Photo by: Mark Thompson \/ Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;So, I slowly start to feel a little bit old having a younger team-mate by quite a few years. But that\u2019s a normal process, and that\u2019s also what, as a team, you should be looking for, right?<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I\u2019m not going to race forever, and at one point you need new talent coming into the team to try and take over at one point.\u00a0That\u2019s always been a little bit the way that Red Bull works, finding new talent, and I think that will continue for a long time.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;As a team-mate, he has been great.
