Now that the cabinet of ministers has been unveiled, what are their priorities?<\/p>\n
As much talk as there is about a sovereignty referendum whenever the PQ is in power, the party has said it would delay any referendum until after President Donald Trump leaves the Oval Office \u2014 so at least until 2029.\u00a0<\/p>\n
In the meantime, St-Pierre Plamondon has said that he wants to quickly unlock emergency funds to tackle homelessness and boost assistance for food banks.\u00a0<\/p>\n
He\u2019s also said he wants to establish a secretariat for government efficiency and regulatory streamlining as well as introduce a bill freezing the salaries of elected officials and Crown corporation executives.<\/p>\n
The work officially begins for this minority government. The cabinet\u2019s first meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. ET today.
