Air Canada has reportedly removed five U.S. routes from its 2027 schedule, including its\u00a0Toronto\u2013Charleston service, as it adjusts its transborder network while adding flights to other American destinations.<\/p>\n
The affected routes are:<\/p>\n
Toronto Billy Bishop\u2013BostonToronto Pearson\u2013CharlestonVancouver\u2013NashvilleVancouver\u2013Raleigh-DurhamMontreal\u2013Seattle<\/p>\n
The airline confirmed the five route cuts to The Points Guy, citing \u201ccommercial reasons.\u201d<\/p>\n
In the same statement, Air Canada said it \u201cregularly reviews its schedule to ensure capacity is aligned with customer demand and travel patterns.\u201d<\/p>\n
According to\u00a0Simple Flying, citing Cirium schedule data, all five routes had previously been available for 2027 but were removed in the latest schedule update.<\/p>\n
Montreal\u2013Seattle, Vancouver\u2013Nashville and Vancouver\u2013Raleigh-Durham\u00a0had been scheduled to resume in May 2027, while Toronto Pearson\u2013Charleston was expected to return in April.<\/p>\n
The Charleston cut removes Air Canada\u2019s only route to the South Carolina city, which it began serving in March 2024.<\/p>\n
The other four U.S. destinations will remain accessible through Air Canada\u2019s other Canadian gateways, Simple Flying reported.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Boston will continue to be served from Halifax, Montreal and Toronto Pearson; Nashville and Raleigh-Durham from Montreal and Toronto Pearson; and Seattle from Vancouver and Toronto Pearson.<\/p>\n
Capacity reductions preceded cuts<\/p>\n
Two of the routes had already seen substantial reductions in service.<\/p>\n
According to Simple Flying\u2019s analysis, Vancouver\u2013Raleigh-Durham departures fell 27 per cent in 2026 compared with 2025, while available seats declined 34 per cent.<\/p>\n
The publication also reported that departures from Toronto Pearson to Charleston fell from 200 in 2024 to 92 in 2026.<\/p>\n
