Valtteri Bottas has proven time and again, both on and off the track, that he is capable of delivering remarkable performances. During his time at Mercedes, he secured ten Grand Prix victories and stood on the Grand Prix podium 67 times. Off the track, he has been making a name for himself with his forays into the world of cycling. Most recently, his journey to Singapore made the headlines.<\/p>\n
Bottas grabbed his bike and cycled the nearly 400-kilometre route from Malaysia to Singapore. This came as a surprise not only to many journalists and fans. Even team principal Marcin Budkowski is said to have known nothing about Bottas\u2019s unusual preparations for the night Grand Prix. Rumours are mounting in the paddock that he could be replaced by Esteban Ocon, who has fallen out of favour at Haas.<\/p>\n

That wouldn\u2019t come as much of a surprise to some of the paddock\u2019s regulars. Former F1 driver and current \u2018Sky F1\u2019 pundit Ralf Schumacher also says on the \u2018Backstage Boxengasse\u2019 podcast: \u201cTo be fair to Valtteri Bottas, you have to say that he should get on his bike and enjoy his life \u2013 that\u2019s just the way it is.\u201d<\/p>\n
The German goes one step further and, referring to the rumours surrounding Ocon, explains: \u201cIf Ocon is up for discussion, if they can get him, there\u2019d be no two ways about it for me.
