Guy Ritchie has spent decades mastering the British gangster epic with sharp suits, fast dialogue, and organized chaos. His signature style found a massive new audience when he expanded his universe into television, dominating streaming charts with a critically acclaimed Netflix spin-off that perfectly captured his trademark brand of aristocratic crime. But long before that television smash hit took the world by storm, a cinematic caper laid the groundwork for the empire. Now, years after its original release, that definitive modern crime classic is officially locked, loaded, and preparing for a major return.

That cinematic foundation was none other than The Gentlemen, a sharp-witted crime thriller tracking the chaotic fallout of a multi-million-pound cannabis empire. The film stars Matthew McConaughey as Mickey Pearson, an American kingpin attempting to cash out and sell his lucrative London drug domain, leaving his right-hand man – Charlie Hunnam’s Raymond Smith – to clear up the trail of mess that erupts from the retirement plan.

Celebrated for its razor-sharp dialogue, slick visual style, and a brilliant ensemble cast, The Gentlemen quickly became a modern favorite, and now, Lionsgate Home Entertainment is bringing the crime classic back. Launching as an Amazon exclusive steelbook on Dec. 15, 2026, this collector’s edition elevates the film by giving it a technical overhaul. It boasts a native 4K presentation with HDR10 along with an immersive Dolby Atmos soundtrack, ensuring that Ritchie’s highly stylized world is brought to screen with crisp detail and punchy audio depth.

Matching the high-class presentation of the film itself, the collector’s edition is housed in a beautifully designed metallic steelbook featuring striking artwork of McConaughey’s kingpin character. Adding an extra layer of premium flair, the package includes a slipcover and a dual-format setup with two discs – one 4K and one standard 1080p Blu-ray – both seamlessly integrated against vibrant interior artwork that captures the sophisticated aesthetic of Ritchie’s London.

The discs come loaded with a solid selection of legacy bonus material that takes audiences deeper into the film’s provocative world. Viewers can dive into the creative process with the main Behind the Scenes of The Gentlemen featurette, which provides an inside look at how Ritchie orchestrated his grand return to the British gangster genre. Additionally, the release packs in a couple of bite-sized supplementary pieces – making for the perfect post-movie deep dive after the credits roll.

Landing fresh off the heels of the Netflix spin-off’s massive second season debut this past September, Lionsgate’s 4K Blu-ray steelbook of The Gentlemen bridges the gap between the cinematic original and its expanding small-screen counterpart, helping to pass the time while waiting to see where the franchise’s newly confirmed third season goes next.
