Selected participants are expected to use the micro-grants to invest in their respective trades and strengthen their business operations.

The support could help beneficiaries purchase equipment, acquire materials, improve production capacity or address other business needs, depending on their individual investment plans.

By combining business education with financial assistance, the programme seeks to help women entrepreneurs apply the knowledge gained during training and improve the sustainability of their enterprises.

Fidelity Bank supported HERTISAN Cohort 2.0 as the headline sponsor through its HerFidelity programme.

Government partners included the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund and the Lagos State Residents Registration Agency.

Emerging Communities said the partnerships brought together financial-sector support and public-sector engagement to expand opportunities for women entrepreneurs.

The organisation also identified financial institutions, development organisations, corporate foundations and government agencies as potential partners in extending support to women-led businesses.

Such partnerships can help address some of the challenges faced by small businesses, including limited access to finance, inadequate business management skills and difficulties expanding operations.

Emerging Communities said the second cohort built on the first edition of HERTISAN, maintaining its focus on helping women artisans manage their businesses more effectively and strengthen their livelihoods.

The organisation works across technology, enterprise, education and social development, with programmes aimed at addressing barriers faced by underserved communities.

For women operating small businesses, improved financial literacy can support better pricing decisions, more accurate record-keeping and stronger cash flow management. These skills are particularly important for entrepreneurs seeking to separate personal and business finances, assess profits and plan for growth.

The programme’s combination of enterprise training and micro-grants reflects an approach that links skills development with practical support for business investment.

With 200 women completing the second cohort, the initiative adds to efforts to strengthen women’s participation in entrepreneurship and improve the management of small enterprises.

The long-term impact will depend on how participants apply the training, deploy the grants and sustain their businesses in the face of operating costs and market challenges.

A total of 200 women artisans and entrepreneurs have graduated from HERTISAN Cohort 2.0, an enterprise development programme…

[15
323387,196903,45,49,48,323388,204729,323389,137,323390,323391,323392
post-944718","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-entrepreneurship","tag-african-energy-entrepreneurship-awards-2026","tag-african-entrepreneurs","tag-business","tag-ca","tag-canada","tag-clean-energy-funding-africa","tag-energy-innovation","tag-energy-startup-grants-africa","tag-entrepreneurship","tag-nigerian-energy-startups","tag-octopus-energy-generation","tag-renewable-energy-grants
["GET
