A suspect has been arrested over the attempted burglary at Lionel Richie\u2019s Beverly Hills, Calif., mansion.<\/p>\n
The Beverly Hills Police Department detained the 38-year-old near the intersection of Wilshire Boulevard and Beverly Glen Boulevard on Friday morning, according to Fox News Digital<\/a>.<\/p>\n Although officers declined to confirm that the attempted burglary took place at Richie\u2019s home, multiple reports suggested that the property in question belonged to the music legend.<\/p>\n Police have arrested a suspect believed to have attempted to break into Lionel Richie\u2019s Beverly Hills, Calif., estate. Google Earth<\/p>\n Reps for Richie, 76, did not immediately return Page Six\u2019s request for comment.<\/p>\n On Friday, authorities responded to a burglary call around midnight and the suspect was arrested a few blocks away shortly thereafter.<\/p>\n TMZ reported<\/a> that the \u201cLady\u201d crooner was home when the alleged attempted break-in occurred and the alarm system became activated.<\/p>\n Police didn\u2019t list Richie as the homeowner, but reports suggested the music icon\u2019s home was targeted. Getty Images<\/p>\n The sound of the alarm allegedly made the burglar flee the scene and nothing was stolen.<\/p>\n Richie\u2019s home is the latest celeb property targeted by a burglar amid ongoing crime issues in California.<\/p>\n Intruders also attempted to gain entry<\/a> into \u201cReal Housewives of Beverly Hills\u201d star Teddi Mellencamp and Edwin Arroyave\u2019s family home in July.<\/p>\n At the time, the estranged couple told Page Six in a joint statement that their alarm system \u201cscared off the intruders.\u201d<\/p>\n Richie was reportedly home.
